NARHS: Custom-designed high school programs

For a customized homeschool curriculum, we recommend NARHS because parents have the flexibility to design a program that meets the needs of their student as they work to fulfill high school diploma requirements. The North Atlantic Regional High School (NARHS) is a state-authorized private school that strengthens home-based education by providing the tools parents need to homeschool their student. Parents may work with NARHS consultants to select the curriculum most appropriate for their child. Students can work at their own pace to earn credits toward a high school diploma. Founded and incorporated in 1989, NARHS adheres to the foundational core curriculum outlined by the state of Maine while allowing flexibility to fulfill those requirements using one-on-one assistance of their certified staff. NARHS offers consultation, course selection recommendations, and tools that parents need to customize their high school student's curriculum. Parents choose the courses that meet the needs of their students, and students work at their own pace. NARHS evaluates the coursework and grants high school credits for homeschool work. Parents love the flexibility of designing a high school curriculum that meets the needs of their student. NARHS issues high school diplomas for homeschooled kids. As such, its disadvantages are the same as any other homeschooling program: don't do it if you (the parent) want a lot of free time, you don’t believe in it, your kids vehemently oppose it, etc.
