DebateAble Kids: Easy to use debate program

DebateAble Kids was designed to provide schools, teachers, parents, and children with a comprehensible debate program. DebateAble Kids is easy to follow and easy to use, as it requires no experience from the children or the teacher/parent. They provide thought-provoking questions and topics for kids to start discussions about. DebateAble Kids was founded by Elizabeth Kruse to help children develop critical thinking skills, tolerance for different viewpoints, and teamwork. Parents/teachers purchase a complete package of materials from the DebateAble Kids site and receive a coach manual, lesson plans, workbooks, debate match materials, and research packets. Parents can then follow the coach manual and lesson plans to teach and conduct debates with and among their students Many parents and teachers like how DebateAble Kids encourages students to see from viewpoints other than their own. Not only does it help students anticipate objections to their arguments, but it also helps them understand there's more than one side to every issue.

Madeline Goldsmith is a rising junior at a high school in Northern California. She has worked with the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation Summer Program to co-teach students interested in STEM fields and is a tutor at her high school.
