Calvert Education: A rigorous, online school for serious students

Calvert Education is an accredited online school that allows students and parents to personalize their curriculum and get a comprehensive education. Calvert Education is an individualized home-schooling curriculum covering a wide variety of subjects with consistent progress assessments that prepares students well for future education. It is one of the first home-schooling programs in the country and has been consistently adapting their curriculum for the last 100 years. Students will get personalized coursework based on what their goals and struggles are in school, which they will then access online through interactive media. This program is a good choice for families with unique schedules, including families studying abroad who still want a US-based education. It is also a good choice for parents who want to be more involved in their students education, with more control of the pace and structure of the at-home classroom. Many parents report that it required too much work and time, reporting that they needed to learn a lot of background information on their own to help guide their students. Even though it can be individualized, many parents also reported that the intense curriculum took a lot of time for both parents and students and required significant screen time. We recommend working with the teachers as much as possible and necessary for each student, as Calvert does provide office hours and opportunities to meet with teachers regularly.
