Blast Off to Reading : Orton-Gillingham based reading program

Blast off to Reading is a program designed to help students that are dyslexic or students who struggle to read or spell. The Blast Off to Reading program contains 50 lessons that help parents/tutors walk their students through reading and spelling exercises. There are also online supplementary games that keep children engaged. Blast Off to Reading was designed to help children struggling with reading. It aims to help students improve their reading and spelling skills. A typical lesson begins with a review of online flash cards. Students then complete a series of spelling activities independently before working on exercises from the workbook with a tutor/parent. The lesson ends with online or physical games for reinforcements. Many parents like how the Blast Off to Reading program gives them the ability to train and work with their children. Many parents have also noticed remarkable improvements in their students' reading capabilities. Some parents didn't like the "old-fashioned" look of the images in the workbook and online games. They felt like it didn't keep their children engaged for long enough.

Grades: Ages 7-13

Cost: The workbook itself costs around $30 and the online games are free with purchase of the book.
