Art History Kids: Fun and engaging Art History

Art History Kids provides both free and paid resources for students to explore the origins of art and grow an appreciation for art and the meaning of it. Lotus Stewart was homeschooling her son when she noticed that there wasn't any art history curriculums that focused on art appreciation or history. She brought her children to museums but wanted them to reflect on their visits.. Art History Kids provides free resources for parents to engage their children in art history, allowing them to encounter famous works and artists, and the ideas and motives surrounding famous pieces. There are fully fleshed out curriculums available that are supposed to last for a whole year of art history if taken at the recommended pace. Parents can also learn alongside their children.. Parents can sign up for weekly newsletters and print out free resources for their children. Some things require parents prepare art materials to use, such as crayons, color pencils, paint, paper, cardboard, etc, and parents are expected to run through the lessons with their children. , Students that love drawing would benefit learning about different famous artists and their works. Art is a good means for an individual to express themselves, and these resources can inspire or even spark an interest in art, which isn't really a focus in today's educational system. , Some of the activities can be boring to children, require too much prep time, or require visits to museums that may not be easily accessible (especially during Covid). , Have fun and take part in the activity alongside your children! Children will be much more excited to know their parent is learning the same things with them, as well as creating art right next to them..

Elvin J Lin

My name is Elvin J Lin and grew up in El Monte, California. I recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and want to pursue a career in teaching. One of my dreams is to be the teacher that has a lasting impact on my students on their educational journey. Some of my hobbies are cooking new recipes and eating tasty foods, as well as gaming. I enjoy bonding over interests that my students enjoy talking about and just being able to see the excitement in them as we talk about the things they love.
